IMMEDIATE JOB OPENINGS
MRI scientists to study stroke and retinal diseases in monkey and rodent models
Emory University , Atlanta , GA , USA
Positions: The Yerkes Imaging Center invites applications from highly motivated scientists at the postdoc or non-tenure track faculty level to fill two positions.
Projects: Successful applicants will work on the development and/or applications of MRI and optical imaging technologies to investigate: 1) stroke, or 2) retinal diseases in non-human primate and rodent models.
Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD and/or MD in a related field, plus:
1) Experience in hand-on MRI experiments, in pulse-sequence development, Bruker or Siemens scanners, and/or MRI hardware, OR
2) Experience in optical and/or speckle imaging, OR
3) Expertise in stroke (i.e., stroke modeling and pathophysiology) and/or retinal diseases with interests in MRI applications.
About us: The Yerkes Imaging Center at Emory University is a dynamic research organization with research interests that broadly encompass: 1) the development of in vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), optical/speckle imaging, and PET technologies, and 2) the applications of these innovative imaging technologies to study anatomy, metabolism, physiology (such as blood flow and oxygenation) and function in neurosciences with emphasis in stroke and retinal diseases on non-human primate and rodent models. Our research group is highly interdisciplinary with expertise in medicine, physics, engineering, neurology, physiology, neuroscience and image processing.
The Yerkes Imaging Center currently houses a 7T/30cm Bruker BIOSPEC, a 3T/90cm whole-body Siemens TRIO, speckle/optical imaging lab, MicroPET (Focus 220) and radiochemistry lab, machine and electronic workshop, and wet labs. Additional details including our research interests can be found at www.yerkes.emory.edu/MRI.
